'The Flash' Trailer: Reintroducing Mark Hamill as The Trickster

The Flash is currently in the middle of one of those pesky breaks between new episodes, but a new trailer for the next three episodes gives us the first look at the long-anticipated appearance of Star Wars legend Mark Hamill, reprising his role as The Trickster from the 90’s The Flash series. Take the speed force down to the trailer below.

Okay, so Mark Hamill as The Trickster wasn’t the only focus of the trailer, because The Rogues are all over the place in it. But how cool is it to see Captain Cold, Heatwave, Golden Glider, The Trickster and Weather Wizard all in the same live-action trailer? Now if we could just get Mirror Master on the show… but I digress! I love all the nods to the 90’s The Flash in this trailer and the meta-fun that is Hamill’s role reprisal is going to be a blast.

I did say Weather Wizard earlier, because yes, a version did die in the pilot episode of The Flash, but eagle-eyed fans realized that character was just the true Weather Wizard’s brother Clyde Mardon. The real deal Weather Wizard, Mark Mardon, will indeed join the show (and probably The Rogues?) and will be played by yet another Spartacus alum to join the CW/DC TV universe: Spartacus himself, Liam McIntyre.

Here’s the breakdown of the next three episodes so you can know where to see all of these character appearances:

March 17: The Weather Wizard (Liam McIntyre) comes to town — showing off his ability to control the elements. He has a personal reason to hate The Flash, as Barry fought the villains’ brother Clyde Mardon (Chad Rook) in the series’ pilot.

March 24: Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) returns, and this time he’s getting help from his sister Lisa Snart (Peyton List), who in the comics was a world class skater who becomes known as Golden Glider. It appears she’s got her hands on a gun created by her brother. Captain Cold’s partner in crime Heatwave (Dominic Purcell) is also teased in the trailer.

March 31: Hamill plays the Trickster, an imprisoned villain who must help Barry and Det. West (Jesse L. Martin) when a copycat Trickster (Devon Graye) terrorizes Starling City.

The Flash airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
