A few weeks ago, we got our very first look at The Peanuts Movie, a new big screen adventure featuring Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts characters created by Charles Schultz. While the idea of a 3D, CG-animated adventure sounds daunting at first, the previous footage indicated that the filmmakers are hewing very closely to the look and feel of the source material, and this new clip serves as a bit of reinforcement.
The last trailer showed us a brief glimpse of Snoopy’s alter ego, the World War II Flying Ace, and his neverending battle against the Red Baron. This time, we get a much longer look at how this age-old rivalry plays out on the big screen. Check out The Peanuts Movie trailer below, courtesy of Fox:
To echo my sentiments from a few weeks ago, when the first footage of The Peanuts Movie was revealed, this looks fabulous. I love the bright, vibrant world the filmmakers have created, and yet it still feels very much like the classic cartoons that have endured for decades. There will no doubt be some purists who just can’t accept the Peanuts gang being rendered in CG, but for me personally, I’m fully onboard for this.
The Peanuts Movie will his theaters on November 6.
Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved “Peanuts” gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state of the art 3D animation. Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace – embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.
