Despite the nostalgia in Arnold Schwarzenegger returning to one of his most iconic roles for this summer’s Terminator: Genisys, the film has struggled to build the sort of buzz you would expect from a major tentpole release. Maybe the newest trailer will finally get the ball rolling? Let’s give it a look, shall we?

So now we know who that “new threat” referenced in the Super Bowl spot is – it’s the future version of John Connor (Jason Clarke). Can’t say that I’m a big fan of this revelation at all – I can’t even begin to imagine how confusing and convoluted this timeline is going to be, with John going back in time to stop Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) from saving his mother (Emilia Clarke) – but maybe the finished film will do a better job of explaining this so that it makes some kind of sense.
