Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League Coming in 2015

The Lego franchises aren’t going anywhere, and with the announcement of Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League, you can add another to their DC line. The direct-to-video film will be a follow-up to Lego Batman The Movie: DC Super Heroes Unite and will see that world expand even further with the inclusion of Bizarro versions of the heroes.

The first film was basically an extension of the cinematic scenes created for the video game Lego Batman 2 that strung them all together into one coherent story. It’s a cute, fun kids movie filled with some great Lego laughs and plenty of DC Easter Eggs and references. The most interesting thing to note with this film is that it’s not associated with the Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham game and will be its own complete story. Here’s how the official synopsis breaks it down:

Batman has joined the newly formed Justice League in order to keep tabs on Superman, a mistrust that is complicated by Superman’s clumsy – but well-meaning – clone, Bizarro. Bizarro’s creation of the Bizarro League has caused confusion amongst the world’s greatest Super Heroes, but an even greater and mysterious threat may force the Justice League and Bizarro League to band together to defeat evil.

The Bizarro characters are definitely an aspect of the DC Universe that fits well with the lighter children’s content of the Lego franchise. Want to see the movie in action? We’ve got the first trailer embed below.

Looks like a ton of fun and a light alternative to the extremely heavy and dark DC Animated Universe movie line. No voice cast has been officially announced, but I could certainly make out Will Arnett reprising his role as Batman and Diedrich Bader playing Green Lantern Hal Jordan. This isn’t Bader’s first time playing the role, as he voiced Gardner on Green Lantern: The Animated Series and was Batman himself during the entire run of Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Lastly, I’ll leave you with a list of the special features that you will find on the release:

• LEGO® DC COMICS SUPER HEROES: BATMAN: BE-LEAGUERED TV SPECIAL – Approximately 22 minutes
• BIZARRO! – FEATURETTE – One part oddity, one part comedic curiosity, Bizarro is a favorite among the characters within Superman’s universe. Take a look at the Man of Steel’s potent, backwards nemesis.
• BE-LEAGUERED BLOOPERS

Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League will be released February 10, 2015 on Blu-Ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital HD.
