Kevin Smith's final film to be split into two parts.

Kevin Smith’s final film, Hit Somebody, is still being written, but he recently revealed via his Twitter feed that the film would be released in two parts.  The first part, titled Hit Somebody: Home, has been completed, and Smith is hard at work on the second part, which he is calling Hit Somebody: Away.  He also stated that he plans for the first part to carry a PG-13 rating, while he anticipates an R rating for the second part.

The cast currently includes Nicolas Braun, Kyle Gallner, and Michael Angarano (all of whom appeared in Smith’s Red State).  Smith has also written parts for other Red State alumni, including John Goodman, Kevin Pollak, and Melissa Leo, but none of those castings are currently confirmed.  Smith has also stated on several occasions that he would like to utilize “everyone we’ve ever worked with” in the film, so cameos from Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jason Lee and a host of others can probably be expected.

Hit Somebody is scheduled to shoot sometime in 2012.
