While the tragic death of Paul Walker has left Universal in a tight spot with Fast and Furious 7, many have forgotten about the other film Walker was attached to: the Hitman franchise reboot, Agent 47. Walker had signed on early last year, and shooting was expected to begin after Fast and Furious 7 had wrapped.
Now it looks like Homeland star Rupert Friend will be taking over the role, according to The Wrap. The first film wasn’t particularly well-received by critics, but it managed to gross more than $100 million globally, so Fox definitely sees potential for a follow-up.
Aleksander Bach will direct Agent 47, from a script by Skip Woods (who also wrote Hitman), Kyle Ward and Michael Finch.
