After the shocking events of the Season 2 finale, we knew there would be some pretty drastic changes in store for NBC’s Hannibal. Now, thanks to an exclusive reveal from EW, we’re getting a glimpse at some of those changes. Check out the first Hannibal Season 3 trailer below.
This first clip does a great job of setting the mood for what Season 3 has in store for us, without giving away any details. Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) is hot on the trail of Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen), who appears to have fled to Florence, Italy. The new season is expected to be influenced by elements from the novels by Thomas Harris, who created the character, but showrunner Bryan Fuller promises that these elements will come with some new twists:
“Season 3 is going to be a lot of fun because it’s going to be taking a lot of disparate elements from the novel Hannibal Rising and the novel Hannibal and mashing them up together as part of the thrust of the season. It’s going to be fun to bastardize two novels into one sort of Frankenstein season. I will brace everybody right now: We’re significantly changing the Hannibal origin story from Hannibal Rising.”
Hannibal returns for its third season in summer 2015.
