Last week, we got our first official footage of Ryan Reynolds in costume as Deadpool, via a hilarious April Fool’s Day video that featured a mock interview and an “announcement” that the film would be rated PG-13. Looks like 20th Century Fox wanted to get ahead of the curve – the first photos from the film’s set have begun to surface online.
Director Tim Miller and his crew are shooting in Toronto this week, and judging from these photos, it looks like they may be recreating the action sequence from the test footage that ultimately led to the film being greenlit. Check out some of the Deadpool set photos in the gallery below, courtesy of Just Jared (and click the thumbnails for larger images).
With these shots being more action-oriented, that’s probably not Reynolds himself in the suit – unless he’s electing to do his own stunt work for this one. But nevertheless, this gives us an idea of how the suit will look during what will be one of many, many action scenes in the film – and truthfully, you really can’t ask for much better than that.
Deadpool will hit theaters on February 12, 2016.
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
