While talk of a Dumb and Dumber sequel has existed for years, it always seemed like on of those things that would never actually happen. Even when Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels both signed on for the film, it always felt like it was happening in some other universe. But now we have our first look at Dumb and Dumber To, and… well, just see for yourself.
It’s a bit jarring to see Carrey and Daniels reprising these roles after twenty years – even more so when you consider that they don’t really seem to have aged all that much since the original film – but the tone seems to be a pitch perfect continuation. One key difference will be the fact that Dumb and Dumber To is expected to be an R-rated affair, which should allow for boundaries to be pushed much further than in Harry and Lloyd’s previous adventure.
Dumb and Dumber To will hit theaters on November 14.
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprise their signature roles as Lloyd and Harry in the sequel to the smash hit that took the physical comedy and kicked it in the nuts: Dumb and Dumber To. The original film’s directors, Peter and Bobby Farrelly, take Lloyd and Harry on a road trip to find a child Harry never knew he had and the responsibility neither should ever, ever be given.
The Farrelly brothers produce Dumb and Dumber To alongside Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland of Red Granite Pictures. They are joined by fellow producers Charles Wessler and Bradley Thomas. Universal Pictures will distribute the film in the United States, Canada and select international territories.
