Last week, we were shocked when Bryan Singer announced a 2016 release date for X-Men: Apocalypse, the follow-up to next year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Very little was known at the time, but Vulture has managed to uncover a few more details, including a confirmation that Singer will return to direct the next installment.
In addition, while Days of Future Past features characters from X-Men: First Class alongside returning stars from the original X-Men trilogy, Apocalypse is expected to focus solely on the younger cast. Singer also returned to Twitter today to kill a rumor that had sprung up over the weekend.
X-Men: Apocalypse is currently scheduled for May 27, 2016.
