Back in January, we got our first official look at Fantastic Four, the upcoming reboot of the superhero franchise from director Josh Trank. The first trailer did a nice job of establishing a sense of atmosphere and tone, but only offered brief glimpses of the superhero alter-egos of our main characters.
This time around, we’ve got plenty to look at. The new Fantastic Four trailer lets us see all of the principal cast (Miles Teller, Kata Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell) in action: we see the Human Torch engulfed in flame, Sue Storm using her force field, Reed Richards stretching his limbs and Thing enjoying some “clobbering time.”
But most importantly, we get our first look at Victor Domashev (Toby Kebbell), including his transformation to the menacing Doctor Doom. Check out the new Fantastic Four trailer below.
This clip also seems to give us a basic outline of the film’s plot: the team is working together to unlock the secret of interdimensional travel, and something goes terribly wrong, resulting in each member of the group acquiring new abilities. We still don’t know much about Domashev, but we’ll say this – the character looks much better than the version from the previous films.
Fantastic Four will hit theaters on August 7.
