It wasn’t that long ago that Jason Momoa was vehemently denying that he had been cast in the role of Aquaman for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. That rumor obviously turned out to be true, and now thanks to director Zack Snyder, we know what the character will look like. Keep reading to check out the first Jason Momoa Aquaman photo.
Snyder revealed the first official look at Jason Momoa as Aquaman via a post to his Twitter feed earlier this evening:
There is only one true King. #unitetheseven pic.twitter.com/RDFG8jbuI6

Snyder didn’t elaborate on the meaning of the phrase “Unite the Seven,” but his reference to Aquaman being the “one true king” seems to be a pretty big hint. Perhaps the standalone Aquaman film will find the character trying to bring together the seven seas under one rule?
Then again, it could just as easily be about convincing the members of the Justice League to join forces. Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman have already been revealed, and Aquaman makes the fourth member of the team. Throw in Green Lantern, Flash and Cyborg, and you’ve got seven Justice League members.
Anyway, Momoa looks decidedly badass in this photo, and anyone expecting Aquaman to be the comic relief in Batman v Superman is likely in for a rude awakening. With the beard, the armor, and the tattoos, Momoa looks like he’s ready to kick some serious ass.
Here’s a bigger version of the photo:
Yeah… try making fun of this guy, or asking him if he can talk to the fish. There’s a good chance he’ll jam that trident somewhere that you wouldn’t particularly want it to go.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
