First Look at Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean 5

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales recently resumed shooting, and while the film is still more than two years away from its theatrical release, it’s never too early to start the marketing push.Producer Jerry Bruckheimer Tweeted the first official photo of Johnny Depp in his return to the iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow. Kon-Tiki directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg are behind the camera for this one, and Depp will be joined by returning cast members Geoffrey Rush, Kevin McNally and Stephen Graham, along with new additions Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites, and Golshifteh Farahani. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is scheduled for a July 7, 2017 release.

Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.
