When we got our first look at Marvel’s Daredevil, one of the biggest criticisms levied against the marketing was the costume. Rather than the iconic red suit from the comic books, the trailers and promotional photos have featured Matt Murdock clad in black with a mask over his face – a look inspired by Frank Miller’s run on the comics. But now, thanks to a technical snafu, we have our first look at the red Daredevil costume.

ORIGINAL: Eagle-eyed Netflix users spotted the image last night when browsing through the streaming service’s online catalog. The image was pulled, but not before it found its way onto Reddit, where it quickly spread to other parts of the Internet. Check out a lo-res look at the red Daredevil costume below.
Neither Marvel nor Netflix have confirmed the legitimacy of the photo, but several other Reddit users have posted their own screenshots, showing the image appearing in the Netflix browser. So until we hear otherwise, we’re assuming this is authentic.
As far as the costume itself, it looks pretty good – although it’s a bit difficult to see much detail, due to the low resolution of the photo. And it’s also hard to pass judgment until we actually see what the costume looks like in action. But based on this photo alone, it looks like the red Daredevil costume fits the same aesthetic of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – almost reminds me of Cap’s outfit from Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Even if Marvel and Netflix remain tight-lipped on this one, we’ll find out for sure whether or not the costume is legit when Daredevil premieres it’s entire first season on Netflix, beginning tonight at midnight.
