TNT’s upcoming Sean Bean mystery thriller Legends is taking center-stage along with Falling Skies and The Last Ship in a major branding campaign at Comic-Con 2014.
Convention attendees can always look forward to discovering which of the upcoming properties will greet them with cool massive marketing campaigns when they reach the San Diego event. Last year SyFy’s Helix loomed over downtown and the year before their Defiance campaign was everywhere. This year TNT is taking over for SyFy with Legends giving the downtown Marriott its annual makeover (love the hashtag #DontKillSeanBean) along with the San Diego International Airport.
Not to be outdone, TNT’s The Last Ship is throwing a big party Friday aboard the USS Midway (yeah, not kidding) featuring live music performances from MGMT and singer-songwriter Grimes opening the show.
Rounding out their major marketing effort, the network is transforming the Falling Skies booth at Comic-Con into an alien cocoon that plays a pivotal part in the July 27th episode. Comic-Con attendees will have the opportunity to pose for pictures inside the large, translucent cocoon, which features fluid-pumping vessels and atmospheric lights and sound designed to make the entire structure look alive.
