'Arrow' Villain Returning to Take On 'The Flash'

A major villain from Season 2 of Arrow will be returning, but not into the show where they debuted, but instead will appear on The Flash. Turn away now if don’t want any spoilers…

…still here? Then it’s time to reveal the name of the returning villain and it’s none other than William Tockman aka The Clock King played by Robert Knepper. The character first appeared in the Season 2 Arrow episode Time of Death and will return in Episode 7 of the first season of The Flash, which occurs right before the big two-hour crossover of Episode 8 of both Arrow and The Flash.

If you remember, we had an exclusive interview with Robert Knepper (read it here) last season, where he expressed interest in returning even before the episode had aired. Looks like we’ll get to see that come to fruition in a big way as the DC Arrow-verse continues to expand and crossover elements into the world of Barry Allen.

“We wanted to give Barry a real challenge… TWO bad guys!” says executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, adding that Barry will be “fighting both a new enemy and one of our scariest and most successful Arrow villains in The Clock King.”

No word yet on who that second villain will be or if it will be a character of note from the comics to take on The Flash.

The Flash will premiere on Tuesday, October 7, exclusively on The CW.
