Earlier this week, we brought you some new images from Transformers: Age of Extinction, the upcoming fourth installment of a franchise that makes a ridiculous amount of money at the box office, all predicated on giant robots smashing other giant robots (and everything else in sight). This new clip features an ominous voiceover from Optimus Prime himself, offering some much-needed exposition to set up the carnage. See for yourself.
Well, at least now we know why Prime is riding into battle atop the monstrous Dinobot Grimlock, not that character motivations are a cornerstone of the Transformers films to begin with. If you’re a fan of the previous films, expect more of the same, with the notable absence of Shia LeBeouf. This time around, Mark Wahlberg is the human character the audience is meant to identify with, and apparently Stanley Tucci will represent the evil side of humanity.
Transformers: Age of Extinction opens on June 27.
