The last time we saw Rick Grimes and company at the end of The Walking Dead‘s fourth season, they were locked inside a railroad car after being captured by the inhabitants of Terminus, an alleged safe zone that turned out to be anything but. It should go without saying that at least a handful of the group manages to escape – I’m sure we’ll learn how in the premiere episode – and it looks like another battle is brewing. Check out the Walking Dead Season 5 trailer, which AMC released on YouTube earlier today.
The series has never been shy about killing off some of its most beloved characters, and while all of the major players appear in this footage, there’s no guarantee they’ll last very long. There are still plenty of characters from the comic books that haven’t popped up in the series yet, so it can only be assumed that there will need to be a few casualties in order to pave the way for some new blood sometime in the near future.
The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres on Sunday, October 12, exclusively on AMC.
