Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is already stuffed with superheroes – aside from the two mentioned in the title, we also know that Gal Gadot will appear as Wonder Woman, and there have been plenty of rumors that the film would also mark Jason Momoa’s first appearance as Aquaman. Ray Fisher has also been rumored to appear as Cyborg (he’s confirmed for his own film), and with the announcement of Ezra Miller being cast as The Flash for a solo film, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that he’ll show up, too.
Now, The Wrap is reporting on a story from a local NBC affiliate in the Detroit area, who recently interviewed a man who claims to have worked on the film as an extra. This person is reportedly risking a $5 million penalty for breaching the film’s confidentiality agreement, and has revealed some new details on the condition of anonymity, including the revelation that another hero will be a part of the film.
[WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW]
According to the individual, Batman’s longtime sidekick and confidant Robin will indeed be appearing in Batman v Superman, and it will be the Carrie Kelley version of the character from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. This actually makes a lot of sense, as Snyder has gone on record about being influenced by this classic tale. The source also reveals that the role of Robin will be portrayed by Jena Malone, who has recently been spotted on set. It’s worth noting that the actress recently posted a photo to Instagram showing off a new red dye job:
Drastic times call for drastic measures.

Warner Bros. has yet to comment on the rumor – and chances are, they’re keeping their lips sealed. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
