With Django Unchained bringing near universal acclaim, Quentin Tarantino fans have been anxiously awaiting news of the director’s next project. While each of Tarantino’s films has been radically different from the last, it seems that some about his most recent work has tickled his fancy, and during an appearance on The Tonight Show, he revealed that he’s currently writing another Western.
“I can’t talk that much about it, but I will say one thing. I haven’t told anyone about this publicly, but I will say the genre. It’s a western. It’s not a Django sequel, but it’s another Western. I had so much fun doing Django and I love westerns so much, that after I taught myself how to make one, it’s like “OK, now let me make another one now that I know what I’m doing.”
The classic spaghetti Westerns from Sergio Leone have always been a major influence on Tarantino’s style, and after cutting his teeth on Django it should be very interesting to see where he goes from here. That being said, it’s doubtful that the new script is very far along, so expect a bit of a wait before any specifics are announced.
