Mark Millar’s Kick-Ass was translated into a tremendously entertaining film by director Matthew Vaughn, and the duo are preparing to bring another of Millar’s acclaimed comic book properties to life with Kingsman: The Secret Service, which stars Colin Firth as a member of an elite intelligence agency attempting to bring his nephew (Taron Egerton) into the fold.
The supporting cast is solid, including Michael Caine, Mark Strong, and Samuel L. Jackson, and judging from the first trailer, this looks like it could be a lot of fun. If nothing else, seeing Firth play a smooth 007-type should be worth the price of admission alone.
Kingsman: The Secret Service opens on October 24. Poster below via Coming Soon.
Based upon the acclaimed comic book and directed by Matthew Vaughn (“Kick-Ass,” “X-Men: First Class”), “Kingsman: The Secret Service” tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.
