With the critically acclaimed Breaking Bad ending its run last year, AMC is fast-tracking the spinoff/prequel series Better Call Saul, with series creator Vince Gilligan confirming he was spending plenty of time with the writing team. We’ve already heard about possible cameos from Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston, but today comes the news that another Breaking Bad alum will be involved in a more permanent fashion.
THR reports that Jonathan Banks, whose recurring role as enforcer Mike Ehrmantraut became a favorite with fans, has joined Better Call Saul as a series regular. He’ll join Bob Odenkirk, who will reprise his role as Walter White’s less-than-ethical attorney, Saul Goodman. AMC is planning for a November premiere, though a specific date has yet to be announced.
