A few months ago, the teaser trailer for Brett Ratner’s Hercules gave us a glimpse at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the mythical warrior, but the clip stopped short of showcasing any real action. Now the full-length trailer has arrived, giving us a much better idea of what we can expect when the film opens later this summer. You can check out the footage below, courtesy of IGN.
There are plenty of shots here that we’ve already seen, but the trailer also does a nice job of setting up the film’s plot, and we get a bit more action, as well. And did I see Ian McShane beating taking people out with a spear? Didn’t expect him to get involved in such physicality, but it adds something else to look forward to.
Hercules is scheduled to hit theaters on July 25.
Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend…
Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.
