Fox Announces September Premiere for 'Gotham'

We knew that Fox’s Batman prequel series would be hitting the airwaves this fall, and now we finally have a confirmed date. Gotham will debut on Monday, September 22. The news comes via a post on the network’s Facebook page revealing the entire fall schedule, which also reveals that Gotham will be the lead-in for returning series Sleepy Hollow.

Set in the years following the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents, Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as rookie detective Jim Gordon, who joins the Gotham Police Department under the tutelage of Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue). Together, they must battle the ever-growing criminal threat in the city, and the series promises to tell origin stories for classic Batman villains such as The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Catwoman (Camren Bicondova).

We should find out plenty more about Gotham at this year’s Comic-Con, when we get up close and personal with the creative team and the cast. Stay tuned.
