The Deadpool film is actually happening, guys – and Ryan Reynolds has given us our first official look at himself in the costume, timed with the release of the official film synopsis. The appropriately hilarious and very Deadpool photo comes courtesy of Reynold’s Twitter account where he’s been posting all kinds of fun stuff related to the film.
Check out the tweet and photo below:

Welp, that’s about as faithful of a costume as you can get right there. In case you’re wondering – that is Reynolds himself in the costume, not a CG character like the leaked test footage. The photo is bizarre and funny and a little uncomfortable, which is exactly the right vibe that should be used in Deadpool. In case you don’t get the inspiration for this photo, Reynolds also tweeted the following photo to give credit where sexy credit is due, to another badass Reynolds:
On top of the extremely fun photo reveal, we’ve also got our hands on the official synopsis of the film:
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Deadpool stars Ryan Reynolds, Ed Skrein, TJ Miller, and Morena Baccarin and hits theaters February 12, 2016.
