As fans rabidly wait for the first trailer for True Detective‘s second season, the official Twitter account for the show has given us our first look at two of the main characters. Keeping the tradition of ridiculous facial hair started by Matthew McConaughey during Season 1, Farrell is seen below sporting this very appropriate cop-stache.
Farrell is playing police officer Ray Velcoro alongside Taylor Kitsch as fellow officer Paul Woodrugh, seen below getting what appears to be a stern talking to from Velcoro.

No signs of co-stars Vince Vaughn or Rachel McAdams in these photos, but with True Detective Season 2 slated to be released this summer on HBO, a trailer can’t be too far in the future. Until then, we’ll all wait with skeptical optimism that lightning can strike twice from writer Nic Pizzolatto with True Detective. Afterall, time is a flat circle, right?
