'Deadpool' Test Footage Gets Official Release

Just over a day since it was leaked and subsequently removed by 20th Century Fox, the test footage from the still-in-development Deadpool movie has now been given an official release, courtesy of Blur Studios.

UPDATE: Check out the official Deadpool red-band trailer here. Or the slightly less awesome Deadpool green-band trailer here.

That’s Ryan Reynolds as the voice of the “Merc With the Mouth,” and creator Rob Liefeld also says that Reynolds provided motion capture for the clip. Check out the incredibly awesome Deadpool test footage below.

Sadly, this footage is as close as we’ve gotten to a Deadpool film. Liefeld and Reynolds still want to get it done, but the holdout seems to be the studio heads at Fox (that “Hi, Tom!” in the clip is directed at former Fox chairman Tom Rothman). Hopefully the positive reaction to the test footage will start the ball rolling.

UPDATE: In case you’re living under a rock, you should know by now that Deadpool has been officially greenlit, and will be coming to theaters early in 2016. For more information on Deadpool, including set photos and official images, check out this link.
