Guillermo del Toro has been developing his Gothic haunted house tale, Crimson Peak, for what seems like an eternity. But with the film’s release slated for the upcoming Halloween season, we’re finally getting our first look via a teaser trailer that was released earlier today.
The first Crimson Peak trailer debuted via Apple. Thanks to JoBlo for the YouTube embed.
The film’s cast, which includes Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam, is excellent, and this trailer is delightfully creepy. Guillermo del Toro is a master at creating atmosphere, and while there are sure to be plenty of chills and thrills that we won’t see until the film opens, this first clip is getting off to a great start.
Crimson Peak will hit theaters on October 16.
