Ridley Scott’s Prometheus – a somewhat ambiguous prequel to the Alien franchise – was met with a fair amount of criticism for its failure to meet the expectations of fans who had long been hoping Scott would return to the series he created. But if the first look at Alien: Covenant is any indication, Scott is prepared to meet those criticism head-on with a film that promises a return to the terror which made the 1979 original such a classic.

Michael Fassbender reprises his Prometheus role as David, an android whose sense of morality is… complicated. He’ll be joined by Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir, Amy Seiemetz and a host of other newcomers for this new tale, set ten years after the events of the previous film.
Alien: Covenant will open on May 19, 2017.
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
