Love ’em or hate ’em, the character designs from Michael Bay’s forthcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film slowly keep rolling out. Today TMNT Fansite (via Twitter) gives us our best look yet at how The Shredder will look in this new version of the Turtles origin.
“That guy” character actor William Fichtner will portray the armored villain, who bears a striking resemblance to something from Bay’s other childhood cartoon turned big-budget franchise, Transformers.
Personally, the designs revealed thus far (including Shredder) seemed to have had the right idea, and then went horribly wrong in a few areas. Hopefully the film captures enough of the original spirit of the characters to salvage a good time for long-term fans, but we’re not holding our breath.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hits theaters on August 8.
