At the beginning of the month, we reported that Legendary Pictures had set a release date for Warcraft, the upcoming adaptation of the immensely popular role-playing game World of Warcraft. We’ve known for awhile that Duncan Jones (Source Code) would direct from a script by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond), but we haven’t heard much about casting until today.
Variety reports that Travis Fimmel, best known for his work on Vikings, has been tapped to play one of the four leads in the film. Details on the character are still unknown, but with production slated to begin early next year, it shouldn’t take long for more news to come down the pipeline.
Warcraft is scheduled for release on December 15, 2015.
