While Disney CEO Bob Iger’s Star Wars announcement is the major news of the day, he also dropped a little tidbit that should work Pixar fans into a lather: not only is the studio working on another Cars film, but Brad Bird is developing a story for a sequel to The Incredibles.
With the amount of revenue the Cars franchise has generated, especially via merchandising, it makes sense for the studio to continue milking it and capitalizing on its popularity. But the real surprise here is Bird’s involvement with an Incredibles sequel, something fans have been clamoring for ever since the release of the original film.
