While Snow White and the Huntsman might not be on everyone’s radar just yet, especially with another version of the same legend hitting theaters this month in the form of Mirror Mirror, it’s definitely on the list of films we can’t wait to see, and if this latest trailer is any indication, the wait will be well worth it.
Charlize Theron looks deliciously evil as the Queen, and the entire production design is packed to the brim with stunning visuals. I’m really liking the tone of this trailer – despite what many film adaptation would have you believe, the original Snow White legend isn’t a light-hearted affair, so kudos to director Rupert Sanders for exploring the other side of the coin.
Xfinity also has a five-minute extended look at the film, which you can sample below.
In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.
The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.
Snow White and the Huntsman opens on June 1, 2012.
