With The Hangover: Part II being little more than a rehash of the first film, it’s difficult for me to be enthused by the prospect of another installment, but it’s happening, and we’re starting to get a little more information on what to expect. The Film Stage reports that The Hangover: Part III will shoot in Las Vegas and Los Angeles before heading south of the border into Tijuana, and that the plot will involve attempts to break Alan (Zach Galifianakis) out of a mental institution.
Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha, and Ed Helms will all be returning, and Todd Phillips is back in the director’s chair. Breaking away from the formula of the first two films can only be a good thing, and there has been speculation, thanks to a quote from screenwriter Craig Mazin, that The Hangover: Part III could end with the deaths of some (or all) of its characters. Let’s keep our fingers crossed, shall we?
