One of the biggest surprises of The Flash’s Season 1 finale was the inclusion of the iconic helmet of the original Earth 2 Flash – Jay Garrick. Fans were delighted when Teddy Sears was announced to be bringing Garrick to life, in all his helmeted glory, for The Flash Season 2. Now The CW has released this short trailer that reveals the first footage of the character’s debut on the show.
Watch Jay Garrick appear all Terminator-like in the first teaser trailer for The Flash Season 2 below, via The CW’s YouTube page:
That’s a pretty action-packed trailer, which isn’t surprising judging by the incredible pace this show seems to take in its storytelling. Even though Garrick’s look is pretty goofy, he seems pretty badass in this footage. It’s going to be something pretty special to see the Multiverse finally debut in a live-action the way it originally was introduced in the comics – by Jay and Barry meeting.
The Flash quickly (heh) has become the most enjoyable show to watch on television, and I can’t wait to see what they do with Season 2. Here’s the breakdown of what to expect when the show returns:
Following the defeat of Barry Allen’s arch-nemesis Eobard Thawne (aka Reverse Flash), Team Flash quickly turned their attention to the singularity swirling high above Central City, which fans last saw consuming everything in its path. Armed with the heart of a hero and the ability to move at super speeds, Barry charged into the eye of the singularity, but will he actually be able to save his city from impending doom?
Lastly, here’s this pretty nifty promo poster for Season 2, featuring that legendary helmet and a silly, but fitting tagline:
The Flash Season 2 premiere, The Man Who Saved Central City, airs October 6th on The CW.
