In terms of quality, Taken 2 was a big step down from the first film. But in terms of box office performance, the film still made plenty of money, so it stands to reason that 20th Century Fox would like to continue milking the franchise and squeezing every last dime out of it. And so we can expect to see Liam Neeson and his particular set of skills on the big screen once again in Taken 3, which finds retired ass-kicker Bryan Mills framed for the murder of his wife (Famke Janssen) and on the run from the FBI, CIA and LAPD while trying to protect his daughter (Maggie Grace).
Forest Whitaker also joins the cast of the threequel, with Olivier Megaton returning to direct, and Luc Besson once again handling script duties alongside Robert Mark Kamen. Check out the first Taken 3 trailer below.
Taken 3 opens on January 9, 2015.
Liam Neeson returns as ex-covert operative Bryan Mills, whose reconciliation with his ex-wife is tragically cut short when she is brutally murdered. Consumed with rage, and framed for the crime, he goes on the run to evade the relentless pursuit of the CIA, FBI and the police. For one last time, Mills must use his “particular set of skills,” to track down the real killers, exact his unique brand of justice, and protect the only thing that matters to him now – his daughter.
