Rosario Dawson will be returning as fan favorite Claire Tempe in the upcoming second season of Marvel’s hit Netflix series Daredevil. Season 2 will debut in 2016 on the streaming behemoth and Dawson’s deal not only brings her back for Daredevil, but appearances across all of Marvel’s Netflix series.
Marvel broke the news via their site, and Executive Producer/Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb had this to say about Dawson’s return:
“After working with Rosario in the first season, we knew instantly that we had to have her back for our second. Claire Temple proved a fan favorite in Season 1, and we can’t wait for fans to see all the plans we have for her next.”
Claire Temple was definitely a highlight supporting character during Season 1, and she was given just the right amount of screen time. Hopefully she doesn’t get over-used in Season 2, but I love the idea that she could be showing up to patch up other heroes like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage or Iron Fist.
Speaking of those heroes, A.K.A. Jessica Jones will hit Netflix later this year, followed up in 2016 by Luke Cage and Daredevil Season 2. There is currently no release date for Iron Fist, or The Defenders team-up that will see all these heroes come together to face a huge threat, although I’d imagine at least Iron Fist would be late 2016 or early 2017.
