If there was any question that the Man of Steel sequel was going to be a Justice League precursor, today’s casting puts those remaining doubts to rest. Theater actor Ray Fisher as been cast as the jock turned cybernetic Justice League member Cyborg.
Variety got the scoop and says D.C. and Warner Bros. have been testing actors for the last couple of weeks. They also mention the role in the as-yet untitled sequel will be a small one, but will develop throughout the soon-to-be established Justice League cinematic universe.
Fisher’s headshot certainly looks the part, and the addition of Cyborg says a lot about the roster that will make up the first big screen Justice League (namely the New 52 vibe). It also discounts any wishful thinking that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would be portraying the character.
