This year has seen a very slow trickle of information regarding Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, starting with a teaser trailer, a poster, and a couple of early concept images. Today, we finally get our first official look at Emma Watson, Dan Stevens and other members of the cast.
Entertainment Weekly has a massive Beauty and the Beast story in their upcoming issue, and the cover shot will look awfully familiar to anyone who loves the original animated film, as Belle (Watson) waltzes with The Beast (Dan Stevens).
But that’s not all – the magazine also features new looks at Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as LeFou, Kevin Kline as Maurice, and anthropomorphic household items Cogsworth (Ian McKellen), Mrs. Potts (Emma Thompson), Lumière (Ewan McGregor), and Plumette (Gugu Mbatha-Raw).
Beauty and the Beast will hit theaters on March 17, 2017.
Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action adaptation of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
