Four new photos from ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier.’

With Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World firmly behind us, it’s time for Marvel fans to set their sights on the future, and just over the horizon lies Captain America: The Winter Soldier. We’ve already seen a trailer for the flick, and now Empire has published a few new photos from the sequel, which you can see below.

Chris Evans still looks like he was born to play this role, and I’m really digging the modern, tactical look of Cap’s new suit. Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) look about the same, and it’s hard to pass any judgment on Robert Redford’s character without knowing how he fits into the larger puzzle. But let’s be honest – the best part about these photos is getting a solid look at Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) himself, and he looks awesome.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens on April 4, 2014.

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.
