Marvel Announces Premiere Date for ‘Iron Fist’

By now, it’s a pretty safe assumption that the first season of Marvel’s Luke Cage has been devoured by fans who’ve been camping out in front of their television sets and binge-watching the latest offering from the comic book studio. So when do we get more from this darker corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Not until next year, unfortunately.

This morning, Netflix and Marvel dropped a brief announcement video to confirm the arrival of Iron Fist. Check it out below.

That’s right: Marvel’s Iron Fist isn’t slated to arrive until March 17, 2017, so we’re in for a little bit of a wait. Luckily, that gives us plenty of time to revisit both seasons of Daredevil, as well as giving Jessica Jones another watch in anticipation of meeting the fourth member of The Defenders.

Along with the teaser, Marvel also released a new shot of Danny Rand (Finn Jones) in action.

The cast of Iron Fist also includes Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, and Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum, with Jessica Jones star Carrie-Anne Moss reprising her role as Jeri Hogarth, and Rosario Dawson expected to return as Claire Temple.

Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.
