Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are best known as the scribes behind action comedies like Zombieland and last year’s colossal hit Deadpool, but lest audiences begin to think they’re a couple of one-trick ponies, the pair’s next project couldn’t be any more dissimilar to their previous work.
Life stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds as two cremembers on the International Space Station, who discover the first evidence of life outside Earth. Unfortunately, things don’t go well, and you can get a glipmse of the trouble they’re in with the film’s Super Bowl spot.
But as intriguing as this brief spot may be, it doesn’t hold a candle to the new full-length trailer, which promises an intense and terrifying sci-fi excursion. Check it out.
Life hits theaters on March 24.
Life tells the story of the six-member crew of the International Space Station that is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research, their methods end up having unintended consequences and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.
