‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Trailer: So, We’re Saving the Galaxy Again?

Unlike most blockbuster tentpole releases, the marketing campaign for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has kept the plot of the film tightly under wraps. Every trailer and TV spot we’ve seen has been a collection of character moments and action beats, which means we might actually be in for a few surprises when the film opens later this year.

The latest trailer is no different, showcasing plenty of crazy visuals and over-the-top action without any spoilers – except for the first look at Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet. Check out the new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer below.

Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker and Karen Gillen reprise their roles from the original film, and they’ll be joined by newcomers Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Glenn Close and Elizabeth Debicki, along with the aforementioned Russell.

In addition to the trailer, Marvel also dropped a brand new poster for the film, which I’ll probably need to add to my collection immediately.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit theaters on May 5.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
