‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2′ Super Bowl Spot: He Didn’t Say Frickin’

Marvel hasn’t exactly been shy about their promotion of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – after all, we’ve already seen a teaser and a full-length trailer – but most of the footage revealed up to this point has focused on the relationships between the characters, rather than the action.

That all changed earlier this evening with the sequel’s crazy Super Bowl Spot, which introduces the key players and offers a glimpse at some of the film’s major setpieces. Check it out below.

Everything about this looks fantastic, and with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker and Karen Gillen all reprising their roles from the original film – not to mention being joined by newcomers Kurt Russell, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Glenn Close and Elizabeth Debicki – this is easily one of my most anticipated films of the year.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit theaters on May 5.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
