One of the biggest criticisms levied against the first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy was the fact that we didn’t get to hear Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon. It didn’t take long for Marvel to remedy that, as a brief promo clip has popped up online that features a bit more information on the character, and includes footage of Cooper recording his dialogue.
It’s interesting to hear director James Gunn describe the character as the heart of the movie, and it’s nice that the studio isn’t waiting too long to pull back the curtain on this one. Another wild card in Guardians is the tree-like Groot, voiced by Vin Diesel, and while the actor gives a very brief introduction to the creature in this next clip, we still haven’t heard him utter his trademark line, “I am Groot.”
We can probably expect more of these little promos throughout the day, and we’ll update accordingly. Guardians of the Galaxy opens on August 1.
