We’ve already seen two trailers and a couple of TV spots for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, but with less than two months until the film hits theaters, it’s about time for the studio to kick the marketing campaign up a notch. This latest trailer, while not nearly as bizarre as the previous footage, sets the tone for an epic sci-fi adventure, the likes of which only Marvel can deliver. Check out the Guardians of the Galaxy international trailer below.
While there was certainly nothing wrong with the first to trailers for the film, this one seems aimed at the mainstream audiences that are familiar with Marvel’s existing franchises. It’s nice to see more from Bradley Cooper as Rocket, and Chris Pratt continues to be hilarious in the role of the smarmy hero. Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and Vin Diesel round out the band of misfits, and James Gunn’s first foray into the Marvel universe continues to shape up nicely.
Guardians of the Galaxy will open on August 1.
From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
