‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Trailer: The Dead Are Coming

0

It was just over a month ago when we got our first look at the sixth season of Game of Thrones, and with the season premiere looming on the horizon, HBO has dropped another trailer for their colossal hit series.

Check out the Game of Thrones Season 6 trailer below.

There certainly seems to be an awful lot of war happening in this two-minute clip: the Lannisters seems to be on the brink of conflict with the High Sparrow and the Faith Militant, the Boltons are girding their loins for combat against the Wildlings (apparently), and of course, the White Walkers are marching on the Wall.

Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is still dead for now, and although his resurrection is almost certainly a foregone conclusion, I wouldn’t be too surprised if it comes during the latter half of the season. Bringing him back so soon would cheapen the emotional impact of his death – and besides, HBO seems to be enjoying themselves as they continue to troll fans about Snow’s fate.

We don’t see much of Dany (Emilia Clarke) here, but it looks like Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) is keeping an eye on things with the help of Varyn (Conleth Hill) and Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel). Fresh from her stay in the dungeons, Cersei (Lena Headey) is just as pissed as ever, and it looks like she’s counting on Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) to exact some retribution, while simultaneously pushing Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman) to behave more like a king – and more like a Lannister.

We also get a brief glimpse of Ramsay (Iwan Rheon), polishing a knife in one scene and commanding his troops on the battlefield in another. It certainly seems like it’s the Wildlings that he’s facing, but there’s also a moment where Sansa (Sophie Turner) seems to be on the battlefield, clad in Stark armor. Could the citizens of the North be rising up against their new oppressors?

Lots of questions, to be sure. The answers should start trickling in when the sixth season of Game of Thrones premieres on April 19, exclusively on HBO.
