After a phenomenal first season, we’ve been anxiously awaiting the return of Marvel’s Daredevil – especially after the news broke last year that Walking Dead alum Jon Bernthal had been cast in the role of Frank Castle, better known to comic book fans as The Punisher. With just over a month until Daredevil Season 2 hits Netflix, we finally have our first full-length trailer to help whet our appetites.
For your first look at The Punisher in action, check out the Daredevil Season 2 trailer below.
I was a huge fan of Bernthal’s casting from the moment I heard about it, and this clip basically confirms what I’ve been saying for months – Daredevil Season 2 is going to offer up the best onscreen version of The Punisher that we’ve seen yet, and Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) is going to have his hands full with the newest vigilante in Hell’s Kitchen.
The end of this clip also promises that “Trailer Part Two” will be coming on February 25, so hopefully that will pull the curtain back on Elektra (Elodie Yung) and what her connection to this whole mess will be. The Marvel and Netflix collaboration has been stellar so far, and we can’t wait to see what the future has to offer.
All 13 episodes of Daredevil Season 2 will hit Netflix on March 18.
Just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city, new forces are rising in Hell’s Kitchen. Now the Man Without Fear must take on a new adversary in Frank Castle and face an old flame – Elektra Natchios.
Bigger problems emerge when Frank Castle, a man looking for vengeance, is reborn as The Punisher, a man who takes justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood. Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.
