Comic-Con 2016: ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ Trailer

Last week, we learned some new details about The LEGO Batman Movie, and got our first look at two of the film’s key characters: Robin, the orphan boy who Bruce Wayne accidentally adopts at a charity event, and The Joker, Batman’s most persistent nemesis. At the time, we predicted that Warner Bros. would reveal a new trailer for the upcoming animated film during their annual Comic-Con panel, and we were right on the money.

Check out the Comic-Con trailer for The LEGO Batman Movie right here.

Warner Bros. Animation is using the same aesthetic that made The LEGO Movie such a massive success to bring this solo Batman adventure to life, and it looks fantastic. Will Arnett’s portrayal of the darkness-obsessed egomaniacal superhero was one of the biggest highlights of the previous film, and the idea of giving the character his own feature makes sense – especially after seeing this hilarious footage.

While The Joker has been positioned front and center in this trailer, director Chris McKay told fans at Comic-Con to expect plenty of Batman’s foes to make an appearance, and promised to “go deep into Batman’s rogue’s gallery.

Starring Will Arnett as Batman, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Michael Cera as Robin, Zach Galifianakis as the Joker, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, and Mariah Carey as the mayor of Gotham City, The LEGO Batman Movie opens on February 10, 2017.
