After the shocking events of the Game of Thrones Season 6 finale, fans have already begun counting the days until the show returns next year. But now that winter has finally come to Westeros, the production team has been forced to make some changes to their shooting schedule – as showrunner David Benioff put it, “we’ve got to shoot in places with trees, and we have to wait until the leaves fall off.”
Even though Game of Thrones won’t return to HBO until sometime next summer, the producers wanted to assure fans that work had already begun on Season 7, offering up a brief behind-the-scenes video during the show’s annual Hall H presentation at Comic-Con. Check it out below.
As a longtime fan of the series, it’s fascinating to see how much work goes into bringing Game of Thrones to life. One of the show’s hallmarks has always been its incredible level of detail and intricacy, and this clip should give viewers a newfound appreciation for the process.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Game of Thrones panel at Comic-Con without a few laughs, and the team also revealed a hilarious look at some of the cast flubbing their lines, with fan favorite Peter Dinklage having particular trouble.
Game of Thrones will return in Summer 2017.
